Firearm Training
Private Citizens & Law Enforcement/ Security Officers
Armed, trained and motivated civilians can and do save the day. Our firearm training Academy offers accredited courses catering for private individuals, security and law enforcement personnel, hunters and dedicated/occasional sportsman. Courses and packages include safety glasses, ear protection, range fees, briefing, instruction, firearms, ammunition and targets.
Proficiency Certificate
What our Training Academy will issue to you after successful completion of your training.
Training Endorsement
The certificate that will be issued to you by the Firearms Accrediting body of South Africa.
Competency Certificate
What the police will issue to you after you have been vetted by the police CLEARANCE department.

Why you want training
Obtain a gun licence for purposes of self-defence - (A licence valid for 5 years in South Africa)
Obtain a gun licence for purposes of sport-shooting - (A licence valid for 10 years in South Africa)
Obtain a gun licence for purposes of occasional / dedicated hunting - (A licence valid for 10 years in South Africa)
You are a Security Officer/ Armed Response/ Law Enforcement Officer, and want to acquire a SAPS Proficiency, so that your Employer may issue a firearm to you for work purposes only.
You want to obtain a Business Purposes Proficiency and Competency certificate, for you to find employment in a business environment.
NOTE:
Business purposes training; refers to the environment you might work in, or going to seek
employment in.
Process
Contact our training Centre – WhatsApp / Text / Email / Call
Decide which categories you would like to do, enrol and make your payment.
Book, arrive, and attend for your first briefing session. You will leave with your training material.
Complete the open book tests inside the manuals at home and in your own time.
Ensure that you date and sign your assignments as you go along.
Contact us as soon as you are ready for your closed book tests, and practical assessment at our shooting range (Summative assessments).
Once complete, all your tests will be combined into one portfolio of evidence, and assessed collectively.
If your you are found competent, we will issue a certificate of training, along with a training endorsement.
You will need these 2 certificates when you apply for your SAPS COMPETENCY certificate (90-day process).
Once your SAPS competency is issued, you may go and buy and apply for your firearm licence.
Tactical Response Officer Course / Tactical Operative Course (TARO/ TSU/ NSU)
- MUST have completed all business purposes modules at basic & business level (Handgun, shotgun & semi-auto rifle)
- Strict requirement: MUST be proficient with all the categories at advanced level.
- Advanced driving (offensive and defensive) - OPTIONAL
- Basic Life Support (BLS) level 3 training - OPTIONAL
- A TARO/TSU/NSU should also possess advanced team support skills and should be able to perform high-risk extraction drills under live fire or attack.
